Kijioji at the Warp on Sunday 21 1730-2300
It was an awesome night at the Warp, kinda reminded me of old times. From what I can remember, the bands were No All, Bambi, blah-blah, and Kidraw (there were six bands altogether). Satoru, Yoko, Kaito, Nobu, Hiroshi, Shigi, Shingo, Hitomi, Satoru's beautiful wife was there taking pictures, Kim and Miyo were there, Isechi, Kumai, and Daichi to name a few. One band played reggae and some dance music (odd for the warp??).
Wirth and I took posters home with us. I plan to frame mine, it's pretty cool! It shows the virgin mary alongside this demon version of her and it reads Big Bang over the top. Everyone kept shouting for Kidraw to play I hope but they never did. Wirth and I went upstairs to sit and chill but we were kicked out later on. The chill-out room where band members would stay was still there but the room just next to it, the bigger one was being used to sell merchandise of the bands. Everyone moshed to No All and Kidraw. Satoru's crazy ass dragged me into the mosh pit and I was wearing 149 dollar headphones, are you crazy?!
I actually stood up on stage and dived down and was almost crowd-surfing but the guys were too drunk to pick me up (even though I lost 20 pounds in the past month) I'm down to 207 now. Anyway, to top things off, it was a blast and it reminded me of old times when you and I went to these things, ah, those were the days that we'll never have again except in memories. I showed Wirth where Cherry Boy used to practice, that one studio in Kijioji. Oh, and Komagura Cafe has moved to a new location, near the Tokyu department store, or something? Yoko and I talked for quite a bit about a lot of things, especially Emma. But he seems to be doing well and still busy as usual. I almost had tears in my eyes about the memories of the fun times. Well, that is all for now, stay tuned for newer articles of future punk rock shows.

25 January 2009
Ah, my friends, yet again, we reach another punk show article to post on the Disciples of Punk page. I would say that people have been commenting about the page and saying that I should add it to a blog, but uh. . .HARDLY ANYBODY VISITS MY G%*%(#%&(%$M! SITE! Anyway, aside from that, our next seen takes us to the Rock Joint GB in Kichijoji. This Freedom Volume 2 event, fronted by the band The Kidraw (pronounced by Yuya as Kid-lo), started out with me and Michael Wirth getting there late. The first band I see upon entering is an all-female japanese punk band called Bitter Boots! I was instantly in love! So was Wirth! Anyway, I bought one of their CDs and they were very, very gracious enough to give me another demo CD with just one song on it for free! Also, be advised readers that one day, on this site, when I get a camera again, I will take a picture of the party hat and put the photos on this website. Sorry, that was way out from left field, anyhoo, they gave me one of their buttons and a couple of stickers. I'm sending my friend down in Okinawa some stuff from the event. The next band was called the Brasters, which featured Satoru on bass & vox, Hiroshi on guitar & vox, and a drummer whom I've never seen before. That is Satoru's drunk-ass new band along with Hiroshi!
The tattoo guy from 'Tommy Gun' brought his kids to the show (first time I've seen that). I ran low on yen towards the end of the night and I didn't bring my wallet. Wirth offered to spot me but I declined and said it was ok and that I should stop drinking anyway. For the first time in a while, Spiky and Myself and to a cerain extent, Satoru, all playfully moshed in a not so abunai mosh pit (abunai is japanese for dangerous). But every time I tried to get away I was pulled back into it again. I was doing all sorts of crazy shit from what I can remember but nothing so crazy that it was illegal or caused anybody harm. But, Shige was wearing a sweater and white-collared shirt that made him look like a damn japanese gilligan from gilligan's island. Spiky was there doing his drunk dance. . .alone. . . near the stage. . .and oblivious to anyone else who didn't want to dance and party with him.
I got email addresses and myspace addresses from the band 'Bitter Boots' and an email address from Mika whom I found out has a boyfriend (CRAP!) Anyhoo, I was on the prowl sexually looking for little japanese honey-muffins to holla at! The one that I was really interested in left early! That ticked me off! Then I hit on Mika who had a boyfriend and two of the band members from Bitter Boots that I wanted to get with had husbands or boyfriends. But I would take the lead singer in a second if she would only reply to my email. Folks there were telling me how much I've slimmed down and that they want to see me get slimmer by next show. The following is a list of all the bands that played that night:
January 24th, Saturday Night, Kichijoji, 'The Rock Joint' GB open 1800, start time at 1830.
First band I think was
Pasta Fasta - Bitter Boots - Brasters - Ane-Kubi Anelai (fucking wierd, psychobilly band but I loved them anyway! More on them in a future blog) - lastly, the Kidraw!
Kidraw played 'I Hope' and 'Universe'! I was stoked! I smoked Apple Mints even though I've quit smoking. I drank only six beers but before that, at the apartment, Wirth and I had a drink of Ginger Ale and Canadian Mist whiskey! But, also, faithful readers, in the future, look out for the party hat labeled 'Tiger Beer'. It will be on a picture on this site. Peace out until the next punk show and remember,
I am a Disciple of Punk!
